Christensen Primary Suite Remodel
A luxury primary suite remodel in Lake Oswego. We moved the door to the bathroom to maximize function, created a wet room with a clawfoot tub, built a separate toilet room, and added a walk-in closet. No more carpeted bathrooms! A classic black and white motif with beautiful wallpaper finished off the new look. In the master bedroom, we swapped doors for windows, added new white oak hardwood floors, and installed a hidden door for secret access to another area of the home.

Historic Home Preservation FAQ for Dunthorpe
How do you preserve original character during a renovation in Dunthorpe?
We use period-appropriate materials, techniques, and hardware to honor the original craftsmanship of your home. Our team carefully documents existing details before work begins, matches trim profiles with custom millwork, and sources era-specific fixtures so the finished result feels authentic to the home's original era.
Do you work with pre-1940s homes in Dunthorpe?
Yes. We have extensive experience renovating Craftsman bungalows, Victorians, Colonials, and other pre-1940s homes throughout Dunthorpe and the Portland metro area. These older homes require specialized knowledge of plaster, old-growth lumber, balloon framing, and other construction methods — skills our team has developed over 20+ years.
How do you handle lead paint in Dunthorpe historic homes?
Lead paint is common in homes built before 1978. Eight Inch Nails follows certified lead-safe work practices and EPA RRP (Renovation, Repair, and Painting) protocols to protect your family and our crew. We test suspect surfaces, contain work areas, and dispose of materials safely.

Yes. We create custom millwork profiles that match your home's original trim, baseboards, crown molding, and casing. Whether you need a single piece replicated or an entire room of matching trim, our craftsmen can reproduce historically accurate details that blend seamlessly with the original work.
